The turtle measuring over 5ft in length was caught in a fisherman's net and he informed team members of the Safe Earth Foundation who swung into action.

An endangered leatherback sea turtle has been released back into the ocean at Opu-Okumbiri in Akassa Clan, Bayelsa State.

It is believed that there are less than 40,000 leatherback sea turtle left in the world.
