They say they are in ‘shock’ at the terrible loss of the former Sheffield United defender.
“We can confirm that George has sadly passed away,” A brief statement from the family read (via Metro UK)
“As a family we are in shock at this terrible loss. We ask please that the media respect our privacy at this time.”
