APC Threatens to Boycott Abia LG Election

The APC revealed that they will not participate in the November 2, 2024, local government election in Abia State.

 
The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has made a threat ahead of the local government election scheduled for November 2, 2024, in the state.
 
APC stated that it would not not take part in the election.
 
During a joint meeting of the state executives and local government chairmen in Umuahia, the APC revealed that they will not participate in the November 2, 2024, local government election in Abia State.
 
They attributed this decision to the absence of official communication from the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC).
 
State Assistant Secretary and acting publicity secretary of the APC ,Engr. Sterling Uruakpa, explained that the party will not rely on social media information on the election, stressing that the Commission should use proper channel to disseminate timely information about the election to the party.
 
He said; “The All Progressives Congress is the ruling political party in Nigeria and the biggest party in Africa and will not tolerate any form of contempt or disrespect from ABSIEC.

“ABSIEC must follow due process in their activities,ensure inclusiveness and provide a level playing field for all the parties in order to gain the confidence and trust of the political parties and the people.”
