During interrogation, Izoronwu confessed to the crimes and disclosed that he had been previously arrested and was currently undergoing prosecution for stealing from his employer while living in the Island area of Lagos.
A suspected thief identified as Kingsley Izoronwu, alongside 200 other suspects, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.
This was disclosed by the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Lanre Ishola, during a press conference.
Izoronwu, 37, was apprehended alongside two accomplices, Desmond Emeka, 28, and Sheriff Olusunmoadi, 25, for their involvement in a series of robberies targeting female passengers at night using a Toyota Camry.
The police operation, conducted on September 22, 2024, led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, six live cartridges, and twelve stolen iPhones from the suspects.
