In a recent interview, Nicki Minaj stated that Essence deserved a Grammy award as a Best Global Performance nominee, citing its musical excellence.
She noted that Essence was the hit song of the year, topping Billboard’s international music charts upon its release in 2021, further solidifying her endorsement.
“We should have our own Grammy board because Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ deserved to win Best Global Music Performance.” Nicki Minaj said.
