Five Suspected Crude Oil Thieves Arrested by Nigerian Navy (Photo)

The suspects were arrested on Sunday 22nd September 2024 by troops of Forward Operating Base Lekki.

 
The Nigerian Navy has arrested five supected oil thieves.
 
The thieves were apprehended by troops of Forward Operating Base, Lekki in connection with stolen crude oil loaded in a wooden boat.
 
This was disclosed in a statement posted on social media on Tuesday.
 
According to the statement, on Sunday 22nd September 2024, troops of Forward Operating Base Lekki, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a wooden boat around La Campagne Tropicana Beach at Ibeju Lekki.
 
“The boat was ladened with a large but unspecified quantity of stolen crude oll.

“Five individuals were arrested in the process and are currently in custody for further investigations. Preliminary investigation revealed that the product was conveyed from Igbokoda axis in Ondo State to beach land around La Campagne Tropicana Beach at Ibeju-Lekki, to be loaded on trucks,” the statement said.
