Update: IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu's Trial Held Over Communication Gap

The alleged terrorism trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is being held up by the communication gap between the Federal government and the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The trial was scheduled for 10am today but the federal government representatives are still yet to arrive in court.

It was gathered that the trial judge, Binta Nyako had fixed the trial for noon but Kanu’s legal team led by Aloy Ejimakor, who were already in court as of 8am claimed the trial was scheduled for 10am.

At the time of this report, the federal government’s legal team, led by legal luminary, Solomon Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN is being expected in court.

It was gathered that the senior lawyer was informed that the trial was for noon as opposed to 10am, as claimed by Kanu’s lawyer.

Meanwhile, a retinue of operatives from the Department of State Services, DSS have taken control of the security of the court premises and the roads leading to the court to avoid possible breakdown of law and and order.

Kanu is already inside the courtroom exchanging pleasantries with his lawyers and family members.

All lawyers and litigants seeking to enter the court premises are being thoroughly frisked to prevent dangerous materials from being brought inside.
