The 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta State (FUNAAB) Christianah Idowu, who was allegedly killed by a friend after collecting ransom from her parents, will be buried today, September 19, at the Sabo Ikorodu Cemetery in Lagos state.
Late Christianah's body was exhumed by the police and an autopsy was carried out on it. The result is being awaited. Her remains were then released to her family and will be laid to rest today.
Christianah had left her home in the Itaoluwo area of Ikorodu and was heading to the University of Lagos where she was observing her industrial training before she was abducted along the Ikorodu-Yaba road.
The abductor contacted her family and demanded a sum of N3m as a ransom before he could release her. It was later discovered that the late Christianah was abducted and killed by her friend, Adeleye Ayomide, a 200L student of Philosophy at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Ayomide is currently in police custody and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.
