Police Arrest Fleeing Driver Of Murdered Ondo Caterer

The driver was said to have provided the weapons they used to hack her to death.

The Nigerian Police have arrested the driver of a deceased Akure-based caterer, Monsurat Debbie Olakunbi Adene who fled after killing her.

TORI reported that the 54-year-old woman was gruesomely murdered in her house on Oda Road, Akure, on 25 July 2024 five days after celebrating her birthday.

The victim's personal assistant, Philip Emmanuel, was earlier arrested in Akure after police detectives tracked her two Android phones stolen by him and the driver after killing her.  

Emmanuel,17, who is currently facing murder charges, was remanded at Olokuta Correctional Centre, pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Emmanuel in his confessional statement to the police said they murdered their boss after she prepared a sumptuous meal for them two days after she celebrated her birthday.

According to him, their boss decided to treat them to a meal to appreciate them for performing their duties well at her party. It was after they ate her meal that they teamed up and k!lled her.

The driver was said to have provided the weapons they used to hack her to death.

Details of the driver's arrest are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

The suspects were arrested after police detectives tracked her two android phones stolen by them after the murder.
