Drama As Nasarawa Speaker Locks Out Staff For Resuming Late To Work

The speaker who was dissatisfied with the lackadaisical attitude to office work warned staff of the assembly over lateness to duties saying that his administration will not condone indiscipline.

Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, locked out staff of the state assembly on Wednesday due to failure to resume work within the official hour.

The speaker who was dissatisfied with the lackadaisical attitude to office work warned staff of the assembly over lateness to duties saying that his administration will not condone indiscipline.

The Speaker stated this while addressing journalists after he went around offices to check staff attendance and punctuality.

The Speaker who was in the office as early as 8:30 am lamented the poor attitude to work, saying that the 7th assembly under his watch would not allow any staff to sabotage the working of the legislative institution.

According to him, any organization that is not disciplined such organization will not move forward, so staff must discipline themselves or we discipline them.

“His Excellency is doing well and doing his best to improve the welfare of workers.

“And the assembly under my watch will continue to prioritize the welfare of staff of the House but I will not condone indiscipline.

”I have instructed the Staff Officer to discipline any staff that is not punctual and is not doing his duties as expected,”
He said.

He reassured of his continued commitment to better the welfare of the staff of the assembly noting that they must be seen doing the needful.
