‘Unknown Soldier’ Allegedly Stabs, Severs Ear Of Security Guard In Ogun

The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola on Wednesday, said the victim’s right ear was severed when an iron rod was used to stab him in the head.

Samuel Adeyemi, a security guard, has allegedly been stabbed at his duty post by one Michael, in Itele community of Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government area of Ogun state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola on Wednesday, said the victim’s right ear was severed when an iron rod was used to stab him in the head.

According to Odutola, the suspect posing as a member of the Nigerian Army, approached the street gate on Sunday around 12:45 am and demanded that the guard open it for him and other passengers in the car.

She noted that in an attempt to identify their true identities, the suspects came down from the vehicle and hit the victim with an iron rod.

Odutola said “The victim was on duty as a security guard in the community at around 12:45 am on Sunday. The suspect, who claimed to be a soldier, approached the community with others and demanded that the victim open the gate for them to enter.

“As the security guard attempted to question them about their true identities, the suspect allegedly approached the victim and attacked him with an iron rod, causing injuries to his head and right ear.

”Medical papers have been provided for the victim’s treatment. The suspect has not yet been arrested.”


She disclosed that investigations are ongoing and the command has launched a search for the fleeing suspect.
