The incident which began a week ago, reached its peak in the early hours of Tuesday, September 10.
Thousands of residents have been displaced in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, after their homes were overtaken by flood.
Most of the affected places are in Jere Local Government Area.

Many areas including the State-owned Broadcasting Station BRTV and Post Office, Shehu Laminu way, and Custom Area, were also severely affected by the floodwaters. The flooding in Maiduguri is reportedly attributed to a breakdown of the Alau Dam.
Many residents have been forced to abandon their homes and seek safety elsewhere.
