The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has said its President, Joe Ajaero is no longer in the detention of the Department of State Services, DSS.
The confirmation was made by NLC head of information, Benson Upah, according to Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.
Upah said Ajaero was released late Monday night.
He was freed after hours of detention by the security agency.
Recall that the NLC President was picked up at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja by personnel of the secret police.
He was said to be on his way to the United Kingdom to attend a Trade Union Congress event.
Recall also that NLC gave the federal government up to Monday midnight to release its President, who was eventually released at 11:10pm on Monday.
His arrest came as the secret police allegedly invaded the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP.
