Aminu Usman and his accomplice, Shitu Wada, broke into a shop, stole half bag of rice, beans, a carton of spaghetti and the sum of N10,000.
A 20-year-old man, Aminu Usman who was released on bail in connection with the looting of the storage facility of Jigawa State Agricultural And Rural Development Agency (JARDA) during the #Endbadgovernance protest has now been rearrested for shop breaking and theft.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, September 8, 2024, said Aminu Usman and his accomplice, Shitu Wada, broke into a shop, stole half bag of rice, beans, carton of spaghetti and the sum of N10,000.
“On 30/08/2024 at about 0700hrs, one Abduljabal Umar 'm' of Gagarawa tasha reported at Gagarawa Division that, on the same date at about 0200hrs unknown individuals criminally broke the wall of his shop, entered and stole half bags of rice and beans, a carton of spaghetti, the sum of ten thousand naira only (#10,000.00k),” the statement read.
"Based on a tip-off, the following suspects were arrested; (1) one Aminu Usman 'm' age 20yrs, (2) Shitu Wada 'm' age 19yrs all of Gagarawa tasha.
"The said Aminu was just released on bail on 29/08/2024 in connection with the case of looting Jigawa State Agricultural And Rural Development Agency (JARDA) during the recent violent hunger protest.
“On interrogation, the suspects confessed and the aforementioned items were recovered in their possession with an additional 3KG gas cylinder. The case has been charged to court accordingly.”
