Abandoned Newborn Baby Rescued In Calabar

The day-old baby was found dumped at the former Ekosin fuel station, close to a refuse dump.


 

A newborn baby boy who was abandoned has been rescued at 8 Miles, Calabar Municipal Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The day-old baby was found dumped at the former Ekosin fuel station, close to a refuse dump.

An eyewitness told the CrossRiverWatch that the baby was found a few hours after being abandoned by an unknown person.

A resident living close to the scene discovered the newborn and drew the attention of passersby who then took swift action to ensure the baby’s safety.

He is currently receiving care and efforts are being made to locate the suspected mother.

Meanwhile, relevant authorities are investigating the incident.
