Wanted notorious bandits leader, Bello Turji, has issued threats against the Federal government, the military and Hausas in a new video.

In the video clip, Bello Turji asserted that he and his followers harbour no fear of death.

Turji stated that he and his armed associates would not engage in combat if they were intimidated by the prospect of dying.

According to him, they engaged in banditry activities and killing of farmers and innocent civilians following attacks and killing of his kindred.

Turji also issued threats to the government for deploying Service Chiefs to Sokoto State to confront his faction.

In the video that has circulated widely online, Turji remarked, “If we were fearful of death, we would never have taken up arms in the first place; cease sending Service Chiefs after us.”

Recently, videos emerged showing Turji and his men celebrating the acquisition of two Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs) from the Nigerian Army.

However, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) refuted Turji’s assertion regarding the seizure of the MRAPs, clarifying that they had been rendered inoperable due to the troops’ inability to recover them after becoming trapped in swampy conditions during operations against bandits in Zamfara State.

On Tuesday, the Minister of Defence, along with Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa and other senior military officials, arrived in Sokoto State, announcing their commitment to initiate a military offensive against Turji and other criminal elements troubling the North West region.
