23-year-Old Ghanaian Journalist Makes Guinness World History By Hugging Tree For 24 Hours

To achieve the feat, he had “to remain standing and keep his arms wrapped around the tree throughout the entire duration.”

 
A Ghanaian journalist, Abdul Hakim Awal has earned himself a Guinness World Record.
 
This comes after he hugged a tree for 24 hours.
 
GWR made this known on its official X on Tuesday.
 
Captioning his picture, the GWR wrote, “A 23-year-old journalist, Abdul Hakim Awal, hugged a tree for 24 hours and 21 minutes.”
 
To achieve the feat, he had “to remain standing and keep his arms wrapped around the tree throughout the entire duration.”
 
Also, he was not given any breaks during the attempt.
 
Speaking about his achievement, Awal said his goal is to “promote reforestation and nature conservation in Ghana.”
 
Awal surpassed the previous 16-hour record set by Ugandan environmental activist Faith Ariokot earlier this year.
