Recall that Wike had ignored PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and worked for President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the last elections.

A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State, Dan Ulasi has called out the party.

Speaking on Tuesday, Ulasi claimed that the party did not summon the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

It was widely reported that the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed that Wike was summoned to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee for alleged anti-party activities.

Recall that Wike had ignored PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and worked for President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the last elections.

Upon his assumption of power, Tinubu appointed Wike as the Minister of FCT.

Despite his position as minister, Wike had refused to relinquish the leadership of PDP in Rivers State, thereby, causing crisis with Governor Sim Fubara.

However, commenting on the crisis with Fubara in Rivers State, Ulasi said: “PDP has a serious headache but the brilliant National Working Committee led by Damagum is working to reposition the party after losing two consecutive presidential election.

“PDP has not summoned Wike to face any disciplinary committee, a few days ago two committees were formed; the disciplinary committee and the reconciliatory committee. I will be surprised if the disciplinary committee invited him because the reconciliatory committee has to do its work and if found anybody wanting would have to refer him back to the NWC.

“Last week I was in Abuja and I saw the national chairman, national secretary, and national organizing secretary, and I saw Atiku with a view to seeing how we can ensure reconciliation in the party is easier than we see currently. There are overnight developments, but I’m saying procedurally; nobody will meet the disciplinary committee without passing through the reconciliation process.

“If only the reconciliation fails we now report back to the NWC who will then send such a person to the disciplinary committee for actions, that is supposed to be the process.”
