There was a fire outbreak at a community-owned high school in Ore, located in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

This led to a significant disruption in academic activities.

The fire, which occurred during rainfall, severely damaged the administrative blocks housing the offices of the principal and vice-principal.

In addition to the administrative areas, the school library was also engulfed in flames, resulting in the destruction of documents, property, and learning materials worth millions of naira. The exact cause of the fire remains unclear, with no immediate explanation available.

The Vice Principal of the school, Aremu John, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, expressing shock at the unexpected disaster. He noted that there was no electric power supply in the school at the time the fire started, further deepening the mystery surrounding the cause of the inferno. "We were shocked by the inferno because there were no traces of an electric power supply in the school when the fire started. We were able to save some chairs," he said.

The incident has been reported to the Ondo State Ministry of Education for an inventory and assessment of the damage. The fire has left the school community in a state of uncertainty as they await further investigation and support from relevant authorities.
