Ajayi said this on Wednesday in reaction to Atiku’s criticism of Tinubu’s subsidy policy, Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) deal with OVH owned by Wale Tinubu and other policies of the government.

The Presidency has made an accusation against the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

The presidency accused Atiku of playing Donald Trump’s card in his criticism of federal government policies.

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, said the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku, is using every scheme and foul means to get political relevance ahead of 2027 election.

Ajayi said this on Wednesday in reaction to Atiku’s criticism of Tinubu’s subsidy policy, Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) deal with OVH owned by Wale Tinubu and other policies of the government.

He stated that Atiku wants to remain in the election mood until the next general election by dishing falsehoods.

Ajayi wrote, “We are in a political environment where politicians like Alhaji Atiku are constantly plotting and scheming, using every fair and foul means, but it should not be so.

“After all the divisive rhetoric of electioneering, a nation deserves healing time when the focus should be solely on nation-building and governance. Alhaji Atiku is not willing to yield any space.

“He wants to remain in the election mood till the next electoral season, dishing falsehoods in industrial quantities to create his alternative universe.

“He is acting out the Trumpian playbook, which is to constantly push out falsehoods in the forlorn hope that they would gain currency and that people would believe.”
