On what was supposed to be her wedding day, August 25, Shauntea Weaver, 40, found herself in mourning instead.
A groom has died just a day to his wedding day.
The young man died during his bachelor's party in an accident.
The incident happened on the 24th of August, a day to his wedding leaving his bride, Shauntea Weaver, 40 very devastated.
It was gathered that Weaver's fiancé Kirk Walker and his cousin Rob McLaurin were tragically killed by a wrong-way driver on the Henry Hudson Parkway in Harlem.
With a heavy heart, Shauntea said, ‘I should be wearing my wedding dress now, not grieving the loss of the love of my life.
“I feel like this is a TV show and I’m going to wake up any minute and go back to my real life,” she told The Post.
“Every hour since it happened, I’m having a different emotion take me over.”
The tragic car crash claimed the lives of Kirk Walker, a 38-year-old Manhattan father of three, and his cousin Rob McLaurin, 40, during Walker’s bachelor party.
At around 2:20 a.m., a pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction on the Henry Hudson Parkway collided head-on with their Dodge Challenger.
Both men tragically died in the accident, just days before Walker’s scheduled wedding.
A catering hall representative who confirmed the incident stated that the ceremony had been canceled due to “a fatal crash.”
“Our ceremony was supposed to be at 5:00 p.m. today — in a few hours,” Weaver said.
“He died 24 hours before our wedding. It’s devastating, and not just for me. He has three children who loved him immeasurably. They are heartbroken that their father’s been taken.”
He was such a generous, hard-working man,” she added. “He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. Such a hard worker.”
