Mrs Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General has resolved the lingering dispute between the National Butchers Union of Nigeria and the Lagos State Butchers Association.

The crisis had been marked by failed attempts of the Lagos State chapter of the union led by the immediate past state Chairman, Alhaji Bamidele Kazeem, to withdraw from the national body.

During the meeting on Monday which involved the union’s National President, John Adun, among other stakeholders in the national and state chapters of the union, Tinubu-Ojo, who is the daughter of President Bola Tinubu, after listening to the views of various representatives involved in the crisis, urged them to maintain peace.

She said, “Since the state body pledged allegiance to the national body and was inaugurated by the same, the Kazeem-led group should embrace peace and work collaboratively with the national body.”

Tinubu-Ojo, while cautioning against greed and betrayal among leaders, emphasised the importance of resolving disputes swiftly to prevent escalation into violence or public unrest.

The Iyaloja-General also reiterated that welfare should be distributed fairly among all members as she condemned the alleged practices of favouring only loyalists in the union.

However, after the crisis was resolved, a member, Elder Shola Adetele, was appointed as the interim chairman of the state union by the national body.
