Father And Son Perish In Jigawa Building Collapse

According to the Buji council’s Information Officer, Ali Safiyanu, the 25-year-old mother of the boy survived the incident.

A building collapsed in Madabe village, Buji Local Government Area of Jigawa State, leading to the death of a 30-year-old man and his two-year-old son.

Mr Safiyanu said Monday, August 12, that the surviving mother is responding to treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

He explained that the building collapse occurred on Sunday night, August 11, during a downpour.

Badaruddeen Tijjani, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in the state, also confirmed the incident.

Mr Tijjani said an investigation had since commenced into the incident.
