Six Family Members Found Dead In Abia

The incident, which happened on Wednesday at Isi Obehie, has thrown the community and neighboring villages into shock and mourning.

In what will come across as a really heartbreaking development, no fewer than six members of one family have been discovered dead in Obehie, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State.

Daily Post reports that the remains of the six family members were discovered by their neighbors.

The incident, which happened on Wednesday at Isi Obehie, has thrown the community and neighboring villages into shock and mourning.

The cause of the death of the family members have not been established officially but a source in the the community claimed that the victims may have died from inhaling generator fumes.

There are also claims that the victims died as a result of a ‘spiritual attack’.

The community source further revealed that three children, their mother, the mother’s sister and her brother in-law died in the incident.

According to him, the father, who was away from home at the period of the incident, is the only surviving member of the household.

The source claimed that the victims were natives of another local government of Abia but have been residing in Obehie, before their tragic death.

The identities of the victims have not been made known but the spokesperson of Abia State Police Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed to Daily Post that the Command has received the report of the incident.

Chinaka said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the deaths.

“We got such report, investigation is ongoing to unveil the cause of death”,
the Police spokesperson told Daily Post.
