PSC Promotes 7,194 Inspectors To Assistant Superintendents Of Police II

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted 7,194 police inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendents of Police II (ASP II).

According to This Day, these officers were promoted following their successful performance in the recently completed Inspectors Board interview, conducted across all Police Zonal Command Headquarters nationwide.

In a statement by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations, the commission’s chairman, retired DIG Hashimu Argungu, emphasized that the new rank comes with increased responsibilities and a call for greater dedication to national service.

Argungu stated that the promotions are timely, intended to motivate the officers to excel in serving the nation.

He acknowledged that Nigeria is undergoing significant restructuring, which may cause temporary challenges and public dissatisfaction.

He urged the newly promoted officers to work diligently in upholding the country’s democracy and assured them that the commission remains committed to ensuring that police promotions are timely and merit-based.

Argungu highlighted that this promotion is a privilege that should not be taken lightly and stressed the importance of the officers conducting themselves professionally to help eradicate banditry and terrorism.

Some of the promoted officers include Ejiogu Eunice, Tiedei Deizigha, Falade Kayode, Agorua Chinedu, Noel Atuwa, Simon Oguche, Mohammed Maikuma, Somalia Maisamari, A’aron Gama’Àiki, Adesina Bosede, Otoboh Theophilus, Olaifa Idowu, Abdullahi Yari, Labaran Musa, Benedict Mamman, Gaiyu Sharafa, Maureen Odogie, Oboh Samuel George, Anthony Oliver, Amos Noku, Justin Boniface, Cleopas Kosulo, and Daniel Eneche.

The commission has communicated its approval to the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, for implementation.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has reassured all police personnel of enhanced welfare benefits. According to Force Spokesperson ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the PSC’s current round of promotions was based on the IGP’s recommendations.

Egbetokun urged the newly promoted officers to apply their experience effectively and adhere to modern policing standards while performing their duties within the framework of the law.
