Daily Post had earlier reported that Squadron Leader, Nurudeen Popoola, a Nigerian Airforce officer, his wife, Dr. Ganiyat Olawale-Popoola and Abdulmugniy Folaranmi, were abducted at their residence at the National Eyes Center Quaters, Mando, Kaduna on the 27th December, 2023.
The trio are indigenes of Iseyin in Oke Ogun geopolitical zone in Oyo State.
Popoola has been released after an undisclosed amount of money has been paid to the kidnappers.
Daily Post authoritatively gathered that the wife of the Airforce officer, Dr Ganiyat Olawale-Popoola and Abdulmugniy Folaranmi are still in captivity.
The family has hoverer appealed to Tinubu and security operatives to help them secure the release of the two remaining victims.
The father of Abdulmugniy Folaranmi, Mr. Mutairu Folaranmi who spoke with DAILY POST on Thursday noted that all efforts to secure the release of the two remaining victims have so far proved to be abortive.
Folaranmi used the opportunity to appeal to Tinubu and security operatives to help them and ensure the release of the duo.
He said: “It is very simple, what the family want is that we want the federal government and the security operatives to help us to ensure their release. Dr. Ganiyat Olawale-Popoola and my son, Abdulmugniy Folaranmi. The family has tried. We have tried our best. We have spent a lot of money. The family cannot do it alone.
“We want the government to assist us. They knew how to ensure their release. So, we are urging the government and security operatives to help us and intervene. We are begging them to help us.
“These people were abducted at government quarters. They were abducted at National Eyes Center Quaters, Mando, Kaduna on the 27th of December, 2023. We want them to help us, to assist us on time. We want the security operatives to help us. That is what we want.
“Their health is deteriorating. They now have ulcer because they only feed them once. They give them food once in three days. We are appealing to the government and security operatives to help us ensure the release of the two people. That is what we want.”
