He explained that protests that result in vandalism and violence should be seen as crimes and not protests.

Adewole Adebayo, the former Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has stated that Nigerians should normalize peaceful protests against bad government policies.

Adebayo said Nigerian citizens must protest purposefully and with patriotism. He advised against arson, looting and obstruction during protests.

Adebayo said this on Monday on his X account. He explained that protests that result in vandalism and violence should be seen as crimes and not protests.

“In our democracy, let us normalize protests by making them peaceful, patriotic and purposeful. No room for tension or state of emergency if we agree that arson, looting, obstruction, rage, riots, vandalism, violence and threats of danger are not protests but crimes. Protest daily,” Adebayo said.

The human rights lawyer, on July 20, Saturday, described a vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) as the simplest, fastest and cheapest su*cide a Nigerian can commit.

He advised Nigerians to shun putting their votes for the ruling APC, irrespective of hunger or frustration in all elections across the country.

“This is the simplest, fastest, cheapest su*cide move at the tip of your own finger. No matter the urge, excuse, frustration, gimmick, stunt or voodoo pushing you to finish yourself off this way, I beg of you, please don’t do it, for your sake and your children,
” Adebayo said.
