Edo Market Women Protest Against Alleged Imposition Of Iyaloja Of Lagos

The leader of the group notes that the market women association in the State is non-partisan and has worked with successive governments in Edo.

 
Market women in Edo state have kicked against an alleged plan to install an Iyaloja of Edo Market Women this Thursday by the Iyaloja of Lagos, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo.
 
The women under the aegis of Edo State Market Women Association embarked on a peaceful protest around the King Square axis and Oba Market in Benin City to register their displeasure over the plan. 
 
The leader, Blackky Ogiamen, on behalf of the market women drawn from the three senatorial districts, vehemently rejected the alleged plan, saying that it is an act of imposition
 
She notes that the market women association in the State is non-partisan and has worked with successive governments in Edo.
 
The women vow to resist any illegality that would pose a threat to the peace and harmony enjoyed by the association.
