The party said the change became imperative because of the proposed nationwide protest slated to hold by August 1.

The Accord Party has written the Independent National Electoral Commission, NEC), informing the Commission of a new date for its National Convention.

The party said the change became imperative because of the proposed nationwide protest slated to hold by August 1.

This was contained in a letter entitled, “Notice of the Change of Date for the National Convention Change of Date and signed by Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, its national Chairman and Adebukola A. Ajaja, National Secretary.

“We wish to refer to our letter dated July 20, 2024, on the above subject. Consequently, the date of our National Convention earlier scheduled to hold on August 1, 2024, has been changed,”
the statement said.

The Party announced that the national convention will now take place on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

“This change of date has become a necessity due to the Speculated Nationwide protest and some circumstances beyond our control.

“We sincerely regret any inconveniences this would have caused the commission. Please accept the assurances of our highest esteem.”
