Panic As Gunmen Kidnap Two Wives In Kwara

Two wives of one man have been kidnapped by some unknown gunmen at Ikerin Opin in Ekiti local government councils area of Kwara state.

Vanguard Correspondent reports that the abductors have demanded the sum of N15 million as ransom from the families of the victims before they can be released.

It was further gathered that the incident happened late last Sunday evening in the ancient town when the residents of the town were asleep.

Sources close to the town told journalists on Tuesday that, the unknown gunmen were said to have invaded the town in midnight last Sunday went straight into the family’s residence, broke the main door and kidnapped the two women who happened to be two wives of one man in the town.

Following this ugly development, the security agencies in the area were said to have been deployed into the thick forests in the town to rescue the victims.

Among the security agencies deployed into the thick forests of the town include men of the Civil Defence, Police and Vigilante groups in the area.

Sources added that the family of the victims was said to have been working round the clock to raise money for the release of the kidnapped wives from the abductors.

Contacted, a senior officer at the NSCDC in the state who sought anonymity confirmed the kidnap attacks to journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday.

He said that “We have been working with other security agencies like police and Vigilantes to rescue the two victims.”
