One person has been killed while four others were kidnapped by bandits at Kasuwar Magani in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to a family source, the victims, who are all residents of Tudun Wada, Zaria, were returning from their farms on Tuesday, July16, 2024, when they were attacked by the bandits.

The kidnapped victims include a public commentator, community leader and lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Zaria, Malam Sama’ila Sahabi (pictured) his younger brother, Sidi (Aliyu) Sahabi, and two others.

The source revealed that Mohammed Bashir (Govinda), Chairman of the Tudun Wada, Zaria Butchers Association, was killed instantly.

“From the information we received, the attack was the handiwork of an informant," Malam Musa Sahabi, a brother to two of the victims, said.

"The bandits traced the victims to their rooms after they returned from the farm and started asking for the whereabouts of one of the victims by calling his name

“This shows that they came purposely to kidnap them, since they were calling names."
