A former director general of the Peter Obi 2023 Presidential Campaign Organisation, Doyin Okupe, has taken to X platform to explain how politics work in the nation.

In a post shared on his X handle, Okupe stressed that in the game of politics, there are no permanent friends and no permanent enemies, only permanent interests.

He went on to state that there is no room for “rabid passion, fanaticism, insults and abuses” in politics as “repeated failures, jeopardy of interest,  pain, shame and ignominy are the consequences of not adhering to the established tenets of politics.”

He shared this on X handle in the early hours of today after his former political associate, Peter Obi, failed to wish Wole Soyinka who turned 90 a Happy Birthday on Saturday, July 13.

Okupe shared a screenshot of Peter Obi’s 2023 post on X when he visited Soyinka. The Nobel laureate at different times, has expressed his distaste for Obidients, the supporters of Peter Obi.
