Police Arrest Two Kidnappers, Uncover Shallow Graves Of Kidnapped Victims In Ogun

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola said on Saturday that Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu led the operation to Ijebu Igbo.

 

Two suspected kidnappers guided officers from the Ogun State Police Command to a shallow grave where they had buried their victims after receiving ransom.

The suspects are Chukwuma Bartholomew and Igwe Monday.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola said on Saturday that Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu led the operation to Ijebu Igbo.

Odutola stated that the arrest of the two members of a seven-man gang followed a technical investigation, by the anti-kidnapping squad team who discovered their hideout in Ijebu-Igbo at about 6:20 pm on June 28, 2024.

“CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha led the operations to Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State, where victims’ corpses were exhumed from a shallow grave and two suspects, Chukwuma Bartholomew and Igwe Monday, were arrested,” she said.

She affirmed that the suspects would be charged in court as soon as investigations were completed and that a manhunt for the gang’s other members was ongoing.
