Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has revealed why the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is cracking down on fraudsters.

According to him, it's the extravagant lifestyles of internet fraudsters that is attracting attention.

He explained that the internet fraudsters abandoned their parents in poverty to live luxurious lifestyles with fraud proceeds, which attracted the attention of the anti-graft agency.

Speaking in a video message shared via his Instagram account, Portable said, “Why won’t EFCC arrest the youths when they are doing Yahoo, using iPhone 15 and lodging in hotels, but their mothers are selling akara [bean cake] and their fathers are suffering.”

He, however, urged the anti-graft agency to properly investigate before making arrests, stressing that not everyone living a luxurious lifestyle is into internet fraud.
