Three-Man Syndicate Poses As Nigerian Chief Of Defence Staff, Defrauds Victims Of Millions Of Naira In Fake Contracts

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in a statement on Thursday its operatives arrested the suspects; Dennis Baba Wdony, Wycliffe Midala and Samuel Kayode Melaye.

Three individuals belonging to a syndicate that advertises fraudulent contract bids in the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff have been apprehended.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in a statement on Thursday its operatives arrested the suspects; Dennis Baba Wdony, Wycliffe Midala and Samuel Kayode Melaye.

They were accused of allegedly parading themselves as military officers and using the office of the Chief of Defence Staff to defraud unsuspecting members of the public through fake contract awards.

According to one of the petitions received, a victim claimed the loss of N21million to their antics.

The EFCC noted that the accused persons would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
