Drama As Police Nab 21-Year-Old Woman Over Alleged Baby Theft In Lagos

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

The Lagos State Police Command has reported the arrest of a 21-year-old woman, identified only as Blessing, on suspicion of stealing a one-month-old baby boy.

Hundeyin said that the mother of the baby, whose name was not mentioned, reported the case at the Elere Police Division on Monday at about 2.30p.m.

He said the mother of the baby reported that at about 7.00a.m. on Saturday, while she was sleeping at home with her baby, Blessing allegedly stole her child and went away.

The command’s image maker said that the suspect after stealing the child allegedly went to church to give testimony of giving birth to the baby.

Hundeyin said that the suspect was later traced to the Agbotikuyo area in Agege where the baby was recovered from her.

He said that an investigation was ongoing on the case.
