On Saturday, May 25, at about 1 pm, fire broke out at the Cartage Cinema in Asaba, Delta State.
The cinema house is located on Okpanam Road, Oshimili North Local Government Area.
Operatives of the Nigeria Police were seen in numbers as they closed Okpanam Road to control traffic.

As a precaution, staff of the petrol station closed and stopped selling fuel while members of the Red Cross were on ground to attend to casualties.
The Delta State Fire Service operatives who were there with their truck were unable to put out the fire that engulfed the two storey building.
Some of the bystanders claimed people were trapped inside the cinema house.
