Helicopter Carrying Iranian President, Others Completely Burnt, No Sign of Life – Official

The helicopter crashed across a steep valley and rescuers had yet to reach it, state media reported.

 
The death of Ebrahim Raisi, the President of Iran has been confirmed.
 
This comes after the State television reported that the helicopter carrying him and other top political figures crashed and there is “no sign of life” at the crash site.
 
Associated Press and Reuters are quoting the head of the Red Crescent, Pir Hossein Kolivand as telling the state TV there was no sign of life at the scene.
 
The helicopter crashed across a steep valley and rescuers had yet to reach it, state media reported.
 
An Iranian official also told Reuters that the helicopter carrying the president was completely burnt and that expectations were low that he had survived the crash.
 
There has been no official statement from the Iranian government yet.
