How EFCC Nabbed Two For Suspected Illegal Forex Trading In Akwa Ibom

EFCC, in a post on its official X handle on Friday, said they were arrested at Udi Street in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, while selling dollars without appropriate licences.

Two suspected illegal forex traders, Surajo Umar and Muhammed Sadiq Lawal have been arrested by operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

EFCC, in a post on its official X handle on Friday, said they were arrested at Udi Street in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, while selling dollars without appropriate licences.

The statement said Umar and Lawal’s arrest followed credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in illegal foreign exchange transactions.

It further added that they will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
