Don’t Say What You Can’t Defend, It Could Be Criminal - Police Spokesperson Issues Warning To Social Media Users Who Talk Carelessly

Adejobi said the police are out for people who make careless and sarcastic comments online and that the police will get such people one by one no matter whose ox is gored.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, has issued a stern warning to Nigerians talking carelessly and sarcastically on social media.

He also warned people from making comments on social media that they cannot defend.

In a post shared on X, Adejobi reminded Nigerians of the existence of the Cybercrime Prohibition Act, 2015 which gives the court the jurisdiction to sentence anyone found guilty of making social media comments and claims they cannot defend in court.

Adejobi said the police are out for people who make careless and sarcastic comments online and that the police will get such people one by one no matter whose ox is gored.
