On Wednesday, April 18, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, made a visit to Stella Okuyiga, a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police who was among the pioneering 20 female police officers in Nigeria, having joined the force in 1955.
Disu share photos from the visit via his X handle and expressed his delight in spending time with the the 'trailblazer'.
Disu wrote: "I had the honour of visiting 94-year-old DCP Dame Stella Obuoforibo Okuyiga (retd..), one of the pioneering 20 female police officers in Nigeria who joined the force in 1955.
"It was a delight to spend time with this veteran trailblazer."
