They said the statements in a newspaper: ‘Step Aside If You Can No Longer Handle Mohbad’s Case, Group Tells Judge,’ was not their position.

Two organisations, Ada Wazobia Foundation and Global Concerned Citizens for Justice have distanced themselves from a statement erroneously attributed to them regarding the Coroner Inquest into the passing of singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, also known as Mohbad.

They said the statements in a newspaper: ‘Step Aside If You Can No Longer Handle Mohbad’s Case, Group Tells Judge,’ was not their position.

Both groups refuted the publication and urged the public to jettison same.

The statement reads: “We wish to state that neither our organisations nor any representatives thereof have issued such statements or made any demands to the Magistrate, Adedayo Shotobi, regarding her role in the Coroner Inquest.

“Furthermore, we emphasise that our organisations are committed to upholding the principles of justice, fairness, and equity in seeking resolution for cases as Mohbad’s tragic death. We respect the legal process and the judiciary’s authority in overseeing this matter, and at no point have we sought to interfere with or influence the proceedings.

“It is imperative to clarify that the publication referenced misrepresents the facts surrounding the Coroner Inquest, particularly in its portrayal of our organisations’ involvement and purported demands to the judge. We urge the public and media outlets to exercise caution and diligence in reporting on sensitive matters, such as this, ensuring accuracy and adherence to journalistic ethics.

“Ada Wazobia Foundation and Global Concerned Citizens for Justice remain steadfast in our pursuit of justice for Mohbad and his loved ones. We urge all parties to allow the legal process proceed unhindered and without influence, with the goal of achieving truth and accountability.

“We appreciate the opportunity to address this matter and reaffirm our commitment to transparency, integrity, and respect for the rule of law.
