A one-month-old baby boy who was abandoned by an unknown person has been rescued in Osubi community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

Nigerian activist, Kelvin Ejumudu, who confirmed the incident in a post on Monday, April 8, 2024, said the rescued child is currently in police custody and will be handed over to the State Government.

“A months old cute baby boy was abandoned in Osubi community Okpe local Government area of Delta state. An aged woman saw the baby and raised alarm. Thanks to the DPO Orerokpe Division CSP Paul Oboware for his swift response to rescue the baby. The baby is with the police and will be handed over to the Delta state welfare for care. It’s worrisome what could have lead to this scenario where one will abandon a child not thinking about the safety and the welfare of the child. He’s such a cute boy," he wrote.
