Three Nigerian nationals, Frank Nwokeji, 42; Loua, 36; and Jack David llobi Tochukwu were arrested on Monday, by the crime branch of Chandigarh Police in India.
They seized 204.86 grams of crystal methamphetamine, also known as meth or ICE, from their possession.
The police said that Loua was earlier arrested in an NDPS Act case in 2019 by Sector-39 police.
He was caught with 207-gram heroin and was currently out on bail. David was previously arrested by Delhi Police, the cops added.
According to the police, a team of crime branch led by Inspector Ashok Kumar had on March 30 received a tip-off that three African nationals, who used to supply drugs in Chandigarh, were arriving with a large quantity of narcotics.
Acting upon the inputs, the police nabbed them and during investigation, learnt that they had come to India on medical and business visas for a short stay, but got involved in drug peddling.
All of them were illegally residing in India as their visa had already expired.
They bought the contraband from their country at cheap rates and further sold it at higher prices in discos, pubs and bars of the Tricity area, the police said.
The investigation in the case was underway, the police said, adding that they were hoping to crack down on more members of this drug syndicate.
