Labourer Arraigned For Stealing Mosque’s Amplifier In Kano

Garba, who resides in Kawon Lambu Hotoro, Nasarawa Local Government in Kano, was charged with criminal trespass and theft.

A 36-year-old labourer, Abdullahi Garba, has been arraigned before a Sharia Court in Kano State over the alleged theft of an amplifier valued at N80,000 from a mosque.

Garba, who resides in Kawon Lambu Hotoro, Nasarawa Local Government in Kano, was charged with criminal trespass and theft on Monday.

The prosecution counsel, Inspector Abdullahi Wada, told the court that the case was reported on March 14 at Hotoro Police Station.

The report was by the complainant, Najib Hamisu, who resides at Tishama Quarters, Hotoro.

Wada said the defendant trespassed into the mosque and stole away the amplifier worth N80,000.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.

The judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, however, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N40,000 with one reliable surety, who was a blood relation.

Lawal-Abubakar adjourned the matter until April 23 for trial. (NAN)
