The incident happened barely six days after the abduction of 287 pupils at Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of the State.
Cafra Caino, the former Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Area in Kaduna State, has stated that the recent terrorist attack in Kajuru would have been more severe if not for the timely intervention of the military.
Caino said there was an exchange of fire between the military and bandits for over an hour.
He made this known in an interview with Arise Television on Wednesday.
Daily Post reports that bandits kidnapped no fewer than 61 persons during an invasion of Buda Hausa, in Kajuru Local Government Area.
The incident happened barely six days after the abduction of 287 pupils at Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of the State.
However, the Council boss stated that things have been peaceful in Kajuru until bandits came two days ago.
He said: “It was a very bad situation as people in the Buda ward community have been living in peace because of the intervention of the security around Kajuru Local Government. We have a military outpost in Kajuru ward, which is close to Buda ward. And then a lot of things have been peaceful until the day before yesterday night, before 12 and the bandits and terrorists came into the community. And as you rightly said, it would have been worse if not for the military intervention. Military came and exchanged fire for over an hour.
“It’s very disappointing, very unfortunate that after a very long time people enjoyed peace, and then this very moment the terrorists have come attacking again. But right now in the community, there is relative peace, just that people are shocked; still trying to come out of the trauma. You know they thought everything was gone and calm. And then suddenly this very incident happened.”
