Armed Nigerian Policeman Caught On Camera Hiding Behind Wall During Bank Robbery In Kogi

The heist reportedly started at about 5 pm when the attackers assaulted the two banks and began shooting to make their escape after stealing some amounts of money.

A video footage showed an armed Nigerian policeman taking cover behind a wall while a group of armed robbers was in the process of robbing two commercial banks in Anyigba, located in the Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

It was reported on Thursday that during the robbery, there were indiscriminate shootings.

The heist reportedly started at about 5 pm when the attackers assaulted the two banks and began shooting to make their escape after stealing some amounts of money.

However, while operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) reportedly engaged the robbers in an exchange of gunfire, the policeman was caught on camera hiding behind a wall despite being armed.

Reacting to the action of the policeman, a resident of the area in the recording said in Pidgin language, “Dem de collect boys. See him head. Na to de hid. Nonsense.”

 

An X (formerly Twitter) user, @Godwin_Dgenius while reacting to the video said, “Frame one needs to find, we need mock him publicly. He will be a hero if it was an innocent young boy.”

Another X user, @AirdropCommando, wrote, “But police is going after a woman that gave a bad review of a product.”

While @Adedamolababy1 alleged: “That police man could be a spy for them.... Just saying respectfully.”
