The police have reported the arrest of an ex-convict and five additional individuals on charges of alleged armed robbery in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This was disclosed by FCT Police Commissioner Benneth Igweh, who said that the suspects were arrested during a coordinated raid of an uncompleted hospital building in Utako village on Thursday.
Parading the suspects on Friday, Igweh added that they were arrested by police officers from Utako Divisional Headquarters.
The suspects, Basara Hassan, Daniel Charles, Adamu M. Oshiaka, Chancy Asidi, and Saliu Al Hassan, were all from states bordering FCT.
Exhibits recovered from them include a locally made pistol, two live cartridges, and wraps of substances suspected to be marijuana.
“Further investigation about the recovered ammunition led to the arrest of Yusuf Iliyasu, aka Tablet, who is an ex-convict and the syndicate leader,” the commissioner of police stated.
