The ‘Asiwaju’ crooner made the declaration days after exiting Jonzing World records.

Nigerian singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka aka Ruger has disassociated himself from godfathers.

He made the denouncement after leaving Jonzing World records owned by ace-music executive, Don Jazzy’s younger brother, D’Prince.

Announcing his exit from Jonzing World via Instagram on February 6, 2023, Ruger said he was grateful to Jonzing World and D’Prince but it is time for him to take a bet on himself.

In a new freestyle titled ‘Blownboy’ released under his personal owned Blown Boy Entertainment, the singer officially denounced godfatherism, asserting himself as his new boss.

“I denounce every loyalty to some godfather, this year I’m about me,” he sang in the freestyle video posted on his YouTube page on Friday.
