The division’s spokesperson, Lt.-Col. Bisi Ayeni, told newsmen in Lagos that the march was to get the troops alert physically, mentally and medically for the year.

On Friday, the Nigerian Army's 81 Division conducted its inaugural physical efficiency test for 2024 with a March Route spanning across Lagos and Ogun states.

The division’s spokesperson, Lt.-Col. Bisi Ayeni, told newsmen in Lagos that the march was to get the troops alert physically, mentally and medically for the year.

Ayeni further said that the fitness walk, which the army called march route, held simultaneously in Ikorodu, Ikeja, Victoria Island and Abeokuta.

“The march exercise will cover up to 12 to 15 km depending on the route that it is taking place.

“We do physical efficiency test twice in a year apart from other route marches that we conduct regularly.

“This one is the route march for the first physical efficiency test for 2024. So there is nothing to worry about,”
he said.

According to him, the Division would still conduct another march exercise later in 2024.
